But, colors have more meaning in Remnant. You see... there's a lot of history to it so I'll keep it short:

After one kingdom tried to ban the arts as a way to protect it's people from the Grimm-- monsters in my world that show up whenever there is a high concentration of negative emotions, like anger, sadness or fear-- there was a rush to embrace color and the arts when that kingdom was defeated in a war that nearly tore the world apart. Since then, there's a push for parents to name their kids after things that have color. And...

Our powers have colors, which are different for everyone.

[He chuckled and looked away, sheepish over explaining the exhaustive details.]

We share colors when we are showing fondness or loyalty to someone. Teams often have colors as part of their names, too. It's important, you see.

So... even if flowers like this sometimes decorate caskets and burials, I think the color is also important. It's a loss-- so that can be sad. But it's also change, and a reminder that the people we lost would want us to look at the bright things in life even when they're gone.
